Website maintenance and management

Website maintenance services: what they cover, and where they stop.

Website maintenance services cover updates, security, backups and hosting, and typically cost $50 to $150 a month. Care plans at that level keep a website from breaking. They do not keep it from going stale and invisible. What we run is the wider job: maintenance plus content changes within 48 hours, plus continuous search and AI visibility work, in one plan from $179 a month.

Website care plans: what they cost and what they leave out

Website care plans on the US market run $50 to $150 per month. That budget covers four technical areas, and stops there:

  • Software and plugin updates, the bulk of the work on WordPress
  • Security: monitoring, malware scans, certificate renewal
  • Backups, and the restore when something goes wrong
  • Uptime monitoring and hosting

Some plans add a small allowance of content edits, often five to ten a year, after which the work is billed hourly. What almost none of them include is the part that decides whether the website earns anything: new content, search work, and being readable to the answer engines your buyers now ask. That gap is the reason this page exists.

Why visibility belongs in management

A well-maintained but invisible website is a polished storefront in a side alley. Two systems decide today whether your customers find you: classic search engines and AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI that recommend suppliers directly. We structure your site so both systems can read, understand and cite it, and we measure the results with our own probing infrastructure, so you never have to wonder whether it is working. The magazine article how AI answer engines change the way buyers find your business explains this shift in detail.

What a managed month looks like

  • Your change requests by email, implemented within 48 hours (two or four per month depending on plan, every additional one $49)
  • Technology run: updates, security checks, backup verification
  • Visibility work: structure, internal linking, metadata craft, SEO and GEO in every plan
  • Visibility report with inquiries and rankings (monthly, in every plan; AI citation measurement from the Business plan)

Management is not a separate contract with us but part of every plan: the pricing overview of the website subscriptions lists the details. How build and operations fit together is shown on the page about the process from order to ongoing operations.

Frequently asked

Managed service, in short answers.

01 What does a managed website service include?

Four areas: technology (updates, security, backups, hosting), content (changes, new pages, freshness), visibility (search engines and AI answer engines) and reporting (what your website actually produces in inquiries). A typical website care plan covers the first area and leaves the other three to you. Providers who only install updates are doing maintenance, not management.

02 How much does website management cost per month?

Pure maintenance plans cost $50 to $150 per month in the US and cover technology only. Management including content and visibility work runs $200 to $600. With us, full management is built into every website subscription, from $179 per month including the website itself. You get the whole trade, not a single task.

03 How fast are changes implemented?

Committed in writing: within 48 hours, on every plan. Each plan includes a fixed number of change requests per month (two or four, depending on plan). A change request is one email from you with connected small adjustments, no ticket bureaucracy; every additional request costs $49.

04 My website already exists. Can you take over managing it?

In most cases we rebuild your existing site on our stack, because reliably running technology from another shop usually costs more than a clean rebuild. The rebuild is included in your subscription and your content moves with you. Based on your answers to our online questions, we tell you plainly what makes sense.

05 Why is a classic maintenance plan not enough?

Maintenance keeps your website from breaking. It does not keep it from going stale, invisible and quiet. Since your buyers started asking ChatGPT and Perplexity for suppliers, ongoing visibility work decides whether your website gets found at all.

Put your website in practiced hands.
